D8gp d聊 (d-chat)
Own Your Algorithm
Sources you trust, filtered by an algorithm you control.
Every message, one inbox. Every post, one feed.
Create your private feed, or join a decentralized community.
Social Media Is Broken
Tired of juggling a dozen apps to keep up with friends and family?
Every platform keeps getting worse! More ads, AI slop, and negative content forced on you. All while tracking you and selling your data.
Human communication is not a product and shouldn't be controlled by corporations.
How d8gp's Different
d8gp is a new kind of browser, pulling your messages, videos, and, news from across the internet into one feed.
You define your algorithm, choosing what content you see from places you trust.
No walled garden, no secret tracking, no company deciding how you interact online.
Our Name (d聊, d8gp, d-chat)
聊 (liáo) is the Chinese character for "chat" — its shape decodes neatly into the latin characters 8gp. Representing the universal good of free communication across all languages and cultures.
d indicates its decentralized architecture. Chat that belongs to its users, not a company. It's also short, distinct for SEO, and the domain/usernames are easily available 😆
Features
Content Organized by Type
- Every message in one inbox
- All friends' posts in one timeline
- Scroll videos from TikTok / Instagram / YouTube
- One calendar for upcoming events
- A front page of breaking news
Transformed Feed Views
Customize your feeds however you like. Only want messages? Then everything else stays hidden.
Want a TikTok-style feed of everything? Then scroll through videos, event invites, the current football score, and reply to mom, all in one feed.
Open Architecture
Don't trust us! d8gp is open source, so anyone can verify what it's doing.
Plugins allow anyone to change d8gp behavior without a new app.
Open communication is what makes us human. It shouldn't be owned, surveilled, or sold.
Personal Agent
Integrate with AI to source and organize your content, and construct feeds for you.
Prioritize your notifications, summarize emails, track upcoming deadlines/events, manage contacts. Remember to respond to your aunt, order flowser for your anniversary, or remove that event after maddie canceled on IG. An agent optimized for a personal content curator AI.
Social Media without Data Centers
Connect directly to friends devices to share content with them. Enable no-data-center mode to only send/recieve directly from users devices, not the cloud.
Decentralized Network
Owning your algorithm is only half the solution. As long as you're using a company's servers, that company can read your messages, delete your posts, and decide whose voices get heard.
d8gp Net replaces the company servers with the users' devices. It's a shared network where people host content for each other. Everything is encrypted, so only the intended recipients can read it.
- Uncensorable Posts - Copies live across many devices, so no one can simply delete your voice.
- Mirror Unavailable Content - If something is blocked in your region or removed from a platform, d8gp Net serves copies other users kept.
- Private Communities - Host invite-only group servers, like Discord but everything lives on user hardware.
